The Table Disciplines
Blackjack. Roulette. Baccarat. Each is a separate art. The Master grades each operator on each.
"Table games" is a marketing category. The Master refuses to treat it as one. Blackjack rewards memorisation and discipline. Roulette rewards patience and an honest wheel. Baccarat rewards none of those — and that is precisely why it is the most-played table game in Asia. Each art has its own teachers and its own traps.
The ranking below weights baccarat heavily, as the readership demands.
How the Master ranks this hall
- Baccarat depth — Speed, No Commission, Lightning, Dragon Tiger as a satellite. A serious table operator carries at least five baccarat variants live.
- Blackjack rule set — dealer stands on soft 17, double-after-split allowed, surrender available. Tighter rules = better player edge. The Master will not play 6:5 blackjack.
- Roulette wheel selection — single-zero default, double-zero declared (and declined), Lightning and Immersive variants from Evolution available.
The Top Three table operators
Each tested on at least one full session each of blackjack, baccarat, and roulette.
Questions the Master answers
Blackjack, baccarat, or roulette — where does the Master start?
Baccarat for the newcomer who wants the lowest house edge with no decisions (the banker bet is 1.06%). Blackjack for the reader willing to learn basic strategy. Roulette for the reader who values theatre over math. Each is a separate art.
Is single-zero roulette always better than double-zero?
Yes. European single-zero gives a house edge of 2.7%. American double-zero doubles that to 5.26% for the same gameplay. There is no reason to play double-zero unless no single-zero table is available. The Master treats double-zero as a trap.
Why does the Master rank baccarat operators separately?
Baccarat is the dominant table game in Asia and the discipline most heavily watched by VIP rooms. Operators that take baccarat seriously offer Speed Baccarat, No Commission tables, and dragon/tiger side bets — distinct from the standard live blackjack lobby.
Can a high-roller negotiate table limits?
On VIP tables, yes. A standing VIP can request a private dealer, raised maximum, and concierge-served session. The Master has done this. The mechanism is: deposit pattern earns VIP tier, host messages within 24h, table arrangements follow.
